1uz Swapped Mazda B2200 Review 60 Off 93 mazda b2200 j35 engine swap. so after some time of driving my truck with a bad tick, i finally broke down and decided to replace some stuff. i replaced the lifters and found that to not be the issue. thinking it was the tops of the valves being pitted, i sent the head to a machinist. found out there were 2 cracks in the head. Unless you go tii the rx7 and miata trannies are just the same as the b2200 except have better ratios and taller teeth. not fundamentally stronger at all. just going fe3 will give you a 50% increase in boogy, mild boost (10psi) will be plenty fast and the box and even the 7" american spec rear will take it fine. fred. The stock exhaust system on the b2200 and b2000 is highly restrictive, almost all other power gains will do nothing until that is opened up. if you run a 2" exhaust from the manifold back with a cat and muffler it should dramatically help the performance all around. if you put a weber in with a performance cam and like a 2 1 4" exhaust that is.
