My son had the same overheating problem with his 2006 pt cruiser. after replacing the thermostat, both relays, sensor, and radiator fan (purchased from advance auto), we later found out that the pt cruisers radiator fan assembly must come from chyrsler. once we replaced the radiator fan with the factory fan, we haven't had anymore problems.
