Whilst zuko’s speech to his father was the catalyst of his good nature winning over, the last agni kai was the final step to his full transformation. it began with fights with his sister, and it will end with a fight with his sister. his past mistakes mark his childhood. with his acceptance of agni kai, he moves on from being a child to an adult. Characterization in the final agni kai. azula is slipping and the fight showcases her descent into madness, and the lengths she's willing to go. this is achieved from her creepy movements (unique to this fight) and her words and her choices. it ends on her chained up and crying in despair, all alone. The final agni kai is one of the most beautifully designed and executed fights ive ever seen. one of the biggest things i didnt notice until recently was that for a larger portion of the fight during the firebending if it wasnt the fire or a character the rest of the color faded which really made the bending and animation pop.
