Time needed: 20 minutes making your one diy photo canvas takes about 20 minutes (excluding drying time). have your photos professionally printed. first, choose the photo you want to create your canvas with and have it enlarged and printed to your chosen size at a photo lab on photo paper.

Fold the photo up using duct tape to secure it to the back of the canvas. fold the corner like wrapping a present. brush a thin layer of mod podge onto the front of your canvas. press your fabric onto the top. smooth it with your brayer or your fingers then remove the fabric. Paint the edges and about 1 4″ into the front of the canvas with black acrylic paint. let dry completely. apply mod podge to the front of the canvas and the back of your photo. place your photo onto the canvas and gently position. use a pan scraper or popsicle stick to smooth the image and remove all wrinkles. You can use scissors or a paper cutter to do this. step 3. apply a layer of mod podge to the front of the canvas using a foam brush. lay your photo down onto the canvas, and position it so it's centered and flat. let it dry. step 4. brush a layer of mod podge on top of the photo using long vertical brush strokes.
