Acts and provisions related to legal issues faced by e commerce businesses. 1. consumer protection act, 2019. the act seeks to protect consumer rights against unfair trade practices and liability for defects. e commerce businesses must comply with the consumer protection laws in india. 2. Federal courts: jurisdiction specified by law – federal matters: “all cases arising under the constitution, laws, or treaties of the united states” 28 u.s.c. §1331 – state matters: 28 u.s.c. §1332. Ecommerce laws are ideally created to protect customers and businesses alike. some laws help prevent identity theft, mitigate fraud cases, and generally keep customer data private. and sometimes these laws are put in place to protect customers from businesses. for example, there are laws that prevent misleading and inaccurate advertising.
