We've seen eren pull monologues praising other characters and we've seen him interact and mesh well with others based on their common traits etc., so we know isayama is willing and able to put in the effort to write compelling dynamics between him and other characters (armin, historia, and reiner all stand out). Eren is against the idea of her having a child whose sole purpose in life is to become a sacrifice for paradis. he wants to put and end to this cycle of royal members eating each other. and he obviously cares about her as well. for now we don't know if it's just deep friendship or something more. The ending was not as bad as certain individuals (r titanfolk) make it out to be, there are definitely good things about the ending that provide a satisfying conclusion to some parts of the story.

Spoiler warning ⚠️ this isn’t a hate thread. i’m being serious isayama did a pretty good job at writing a character like eren who goes beyond levels of patheticness. everything eren’s done is irredeemable. he slaughtered 80% of the world, killed his mother, and quite literally repeated all the mistakes others did before him. he then goes and cries about how much he wants to live. Eren and historia went on to rule paradis island with an iron fist, ruling with fear and intimidation. and as they sat on their throne, they knew that they had finally achieved their ultimate goal. but deep down, they both knew that their love had come at a great cost, and they were haunted by the memory of mikasa's broken heart.
