My First Cessna Vor Navigation Condensed In A Timelapse Screenshots Hi guys! my first post here. i would appreciate some guidance on what i am doing wrong setting up vor navigation on cessna 172 with garmin 530. so, i am following a course from gleim, which gives me direction to tune to 110.40 frequency on nav1. i do this. then i make sure nav1 button is selected on the top comm. panel. I tried tuning nzwn vor (112.3, pictured) and also nzoh. the stock 152 cdi isn't responding at all to the nav radio being tuned. i have used vor navigation in the 152 in australia a few months ago and it worked. all of my frequencies are from navigraph. i have also followed this video to ensure i'm not making any errors with tuning.

I’ve been watching and wanted to learn how to navigate using vor so i planned a route with skyvector from kgyy to kpwk. route is: kgyy → cgt vor on hdg 326 until intercepted. then turn hdg 356 towards laird on the vor 356 radial. at laird turn to obk vor on 316 radial. tune other radio to the loc at kpwk set to 163. at obk turn to kpwk and use the loc for glide slope into land. How to use a vor can be quite confusing to student pilots. vors are not difficult, and this video's intent is to make vor navigation easy with visual presentations and then flying the presentation in microsoft flight simulator and covering the basics of vor navigation. the video will start with by explaining the parts of the vor indicator.
