Quick Tour Of My Ham Shack Youtube This is a tour of my ham shack, which has been requested by several viewers, and which i want to build out, so i thought a "starting point" would be good to. A quick tour of the newly renovated building that is now my ham shack. i thought y'all might like a tour. i would love suggestions about additional storage and organizational tips too. it's definitely a work in progress, but it's coming along. the previous owner actually lived in this tiny 12x28 building. we added on 12x15 carport enclosed to. The basement project. while i’ve mentioned it several times on my podcast, i don’t recall blogging much about it. i did blog once about moving my ham shack from a 6 foot area to a larger area here. but for what feels like a decade, i’ve been planning for and slowly working on my new basement ham shack, office and just general man cave. Conclusion. total cost for the ham shack setup above comes in around $905 (but we’re not calculating shipping and taxes). however, i have full confidence that if you start with the above equipment, you’ll have your bases covered for 90% of the radio capabilities you’ll want to engage in.

A ham shack tends to sprout antennas ranging from vertical whips the size of pencils to wire antennas stretched through the trees and supersize directional beam antennas held high in the air on steel towers. cables and feed lines: look behind, around, or under any piece of shack equipment, and you find wires. lots of them. Cut a 2″ piece of insulation* and slide it 1 2″ toward the end of the wire. slide a 2″ piece of heat shrink onto the wire. loop each end of the dipole antenna through a non conductive “dog bone” insulator then fold the wire back twisting it onto itself. secure the wire loop by soldering the twisted end.
