Snap Ed Needs Assessment Webinar 1 Needs Assessment Purpos The needs assessment toolkit aims to help snap state agencies meet program requirements and enhance their existing needs assessment capabilities. the toolkit offers suggestions to increase the diversity of voices involved throughout the needs assessment process and strategies to link needs assessment findings to state goals and snap ed. To understand supplemental nutrition assistance program education (snap ed) implementing agencies’(sias) use of the snap ed evaluation framework (framework), which is a tool that includes 51 indicators that snap ed programs can use to measure the success of their programs in the first 5 years after its release. General needs assessment questions 1. if the needs assessment is going through 2025, will we still be basing our 3 year plan off of it? yes. the federal requirement for a statewide needs assessment only needs to focus on the snap ed eligible population; this is the information we have collected and that is available for ffy 2024 2026 planning. Below are specific recommendations that will make snap ed programming and evaluation activities more equitable and better serve the unique needs of diverse low resourced communities in the southeast and across the country. piloting these recommendations in practice to build evidence for using an equity approach in snap ed is advised.
