In the current patch, a fleet will start jumping from one system to another as soon as the first ship of the fleet reaches the jump point. that means that the speed of a fleet is effectively determined by the speed of its fastest ship so you can put even just one corvette (the "tug" corvette) in a fleet of battleships and the entire fleet will move as fast as a corvette swarm.
