For a while, smash bros legacy had this as a mode in special smash. it was pretty neat how it worked, it replaced the invisible mode by swapping out the invisible player model variants with low poly ones. unfortunately, the task of creating low poly models for all brawl characters was too great a challenge, so they just cut the mode.
