Thank you for contacting rust oleum consumer brands canada. our tremclad is an alkyd enamel oil base paint and it will yellow overtime. excessive and repeated heat can accelerate the yellowing process. however the tremclad is not an automotive paint and is not as tough as an automotive paint. we would not recommend it on a vehicle.

Thesamba Body Paint View Topic Rustoleum Paint Job So i could get away with an exterior paint job and still have the interior paint match (ish). i know rustoleum gets bashed a lot but i'm truly talking about a beater here. 74 body on a 71 pan with lots of sketchy replacement panels already welded in. just not a good candidate for much more than cruising around in. This will neutralize the stripper and give a nice clean surface. allso use a water soluable stripper. if you want to go with rustoleum us the rusty metal primer. two coats with a brush and roller. after it cures for a week or so it wet sands beautifully. i have yet to find a paint that's not compatible. stay safe out there and thank you for. Put 3 coats on it, color sand down to 2000 grit (wet) then it'll look pretty good. shoot a high gloss clear over it first if you want (if you do that just do a light color sand with ~600 grit) and then do the high quality sand job. remember to do a polish with a buffer! it's amazing how good paint will look after that. Quart kit of paint is 50 with free shipping on ebay. rustoleum is good for what it is but its still solvent based paint which is no where near as durable or protective as catalized paints. will it work for a hobby car, yes. i would not do it personally or reccomend it however. 1967 bug ( the daily rod ).
