Works Or Grace Part 1 On Vimeo A little rough on the thief on the cross. the roman catholic church says, “yes, you are saved by faith, and grace saves you, grace and faith, but grace is mediated through the sacraments, so you must take the sacraments, they mediate grace; and you must partake of the lord’s supper, for it mediates divine life. The bible teaches that both grace and good works are necessary for salvation. our deep appreciation for god’s gracious forgiveness should lead us to respond by trying to please god and become like him—to do the things he defines as good—to “be zealous for good works” (titus 2:14). Purposed sanctification speaks of god’s eternal decree (his purpose in eternity— ephesians 1:11; 2 timothy 1:9) to sanctify his people. god decreed in eternity what he would accomplish in time. 2. accomplished sanctification is the sanctification of his people that jesus christ accomplished on the cross.
